When I came to Coca-Cola two years ago, Journey was still an idea. My role was to find and create the stories that would transform the Company’s global corporate website into an engaging digital magazine.
Fast forward to today and Coca-Cola Journey has been live for nearly 500 days—492 to be exact. We’re live in eight languages and seven countries (Germany was our first!). 2014 is shaping up to be just as exciting. Journey is coming into its own with a fresh redesign and our team is working feverishly to onboard several more countries before year’s end.
And so starting tomorrow, all of our editors and soon-to-be
editors will meet in person for the very first time. Together in the heart of
The Coca-Cola Company’s hometown of Atlanta, Journey’s global editorial team
will spend three days learning from leading publishing and SEO experts. At the
end of this time together, we hope everyone will walk away with a cohesive
overview of how to become an effective, efficient storyteller and brand
As a group working toward the same goal but always miles and time zones apart, we are pumped about this opportunity. This is the culmination of all our hard work, an incredible shared vision and yet in many ways it’s the start of something new. We’re now forming our internal community—the international news network that we imagined some 500 days prior— where we create Coke’s fledgling media property, Coca-Cola Journey.
So we hope you will join in our passion for storytelling as the Atlanta-based global team reports on this event throughout the week. We’ll be sharing some publishing tidbits, analytics insights and recipes via Journey and Unbottled, and on Twitter at @CocaColaCo. Join us by following along and chiming in the conversation through the hashtag #JourneyOn.Here we go! The event officially begins tomorrow morning.
