Coca-Cola Places Bet on Wellness Challenge

Today, Coca-Cola placed a bet that no matter the winner, city employees in Chicago and San Antonio will be healthier in a year’s time. The American Beverage Association (ABA) Foundation announced this morning that it will fund a $5 million “wellness challenge” between the cities of Chicago and San Antonio. Over the course of a year, city employees and their families are going to battle it out to see who can be the healthiest and lose the most weight.

In addition, Coca-Cola, in partnership with the beverage industry, announced a new Calories Count™ Vending Program. This new vending program will give people the choices, information and encouragement they need to choose beverages that are right for themselves and their families.
