Five lucky Coca-Cola employees recently got a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to handpick their Halloween costumes from The Coca-Cola Company Archives. The Archives Department is always looking for new and fun ways to engage employees and share the history of the Company. When we realized that Halloween fell on a Friday this year, the first ever “Archives Halloween Contest” was born.

The Archives Department reached out to members of the Coca-Cola Young Professionals group via their October newsletter with details of the contest. Up for grabs was the chance to win a tour of the Archives and select from our collection of vintage delivery uniforms to wear to work on Halloween. The participants included Ali Cascino, Shopper Marketing Manager, North American Marketing; Justin Ernest, Treasury Analyst, Corporate Treasury; Lindsey Friedman, Shopper Messaging Manager, Integrated Marketing Content; Ran Tao, Senior Manager, Sustainability Strategy; and Sven Dejean, Procurement Analyst, Global Sustainable Procurement.

When asked why they wanted to be involved in this opportunity, these Coca-Cola Young Professionals referenced the heritage of our Company. Ali Cascino said, “Halloween is by far my favorite holiday of the year. Being able to celebrate the holiday I love with my company’s rich history provides a doubly sweet treat.”  Ran Tao responded, “Coca-Cola has an incredible history. I want to bring it to life.”

1970's Delivery
Coca-Cola delivery driver uniforms from 1977 that Coca-Cola associates will wear for Halloween.

The Archives has uniforms dating back to the 1920s-1980s (wish we had a pair of these but sadly we do not!) These uniforms were worn by the men and women who delivered Coca-Cola to retail outlets and worked in bottling plants. Participants in our Halloween contest selected from a variety of 1970s - 1980s shirts, jackets, pants, belts, ties and hats to create the perfect vintage look for Halloween.

On Halloween these Young Professionals will show up to work in full delivery uniforms. What does Sven Dejean suspect people will say when they see him in uniform? “Your costume is awesome, where can I get one?” Look for pictures of Sven and the rest of the group around the AOC and in the courtyard on Friday, October 31st (HALLOWEEN!)  We have a few special Halloween tricks and treats planned for the day throughout the AOC! You can also follow along on the @coke_archives Instagram and Twitter feeds for updates throughout the day.
