Recent college graduates ranked The Coca-Cola Company among the world’s top employers in a study conducted by Universum Global.

The research firm surveyed more than 200,000 business and engineering students in more than 30 countries, including the world’s 12 largest economies, to compile the 2014 World’s Most Attractive Employers ranking. Coca-Cola ranked No. 23 among engineering students and No. 24 among business students.

Universum credits Coke’s “indefatigable fanbase” with boosting its profile among Millennial job seekers, citing the recent return of SURGE thanks, in part, to an online movement led by three young brand loyalists

According to the study, students around the world are motivated by creative and friendly workplaces. When asked about their employment preferences, “a creative and dynamic work environment” was the most sought-after attribute for engineering students globally, and No. 4 for business students. “A friendly work environment” is also important, placing No. 6 for engineers and No. 5 for business students.

“It’s an indication that this generation, no matter where they are in the world, take a different approach to work,” said Petter Nylander, CEO of Universum. “Students know what a large role work will play in their lives and want to work in an environment that resonates – employers need to invest in cultivating this.”
