For the first time since its founding in 2000, Latino Leaders Magazine introduced its "Best Companies for Latinos" index highlighting U.S. corporations with the best recruitment, retention and development programs for Hispanic talent. The Coca-Cola Company ranked No. 3 out of 22 companies profiled.

Rankings were based on the following areas: recruitment and retention of Latinos; affinity groups and internal strategies to promote inclusion; supplier diversity programs; and external strategies and programs targeting Hispanic customers.

Rudy Beserra (pictured above), vice president of Latin Affairs at Coca-Cola, also received the magazine’s 2017 Maestro Award for Diversity Advancement. The award honors recipients whom have served the Latino community through business, education, civil service and entrepreneurship. Beserra has built a long, successful career as an advocate and voice for the Latino community. During his time with Coca-Cola, he has helped strengthen the company’s connection with hundreds of Latino organizations and small businesses in the U.S.

These honors reaffirm that the company’s diversity and inclusion strategies and programs continue to drive positive business results. 

“Earning this recognition underscores our commitment to being ‘as inclusive as our brands’ and reflects significant progress towards achieving true diversity,” said Andrew R. Davis, chief diversity and inclusion officer, Coca-Cola.

The 2016 "Best Companies for Latinos" index, announced in December 2016, is featured on Latinoleaders.com and in Latino Leaders Magazine. The Maestro Award for Diversity Advancement ceremony will take place Aug. 30 in Chicago.
