Why give up your favorite juices during Passover? A number of Minute Maid orange juices and Simply Orange juices are Kosher for Passover as certified by the Orthodox Union (OU), the world’s largest kosher certification agency.

Passover begins at sundown on Monday, April 14. The first and second nights of the holiday are celebrated through a Seder, or ceremonial dinner. Several beverages offered by The Coca-Cola Company, including Minute Maid Pure Squeezed Some Pulp and No Pulp orange juices in the 59 fl. oz. size and Simply Orange Juice Pulp Free and High Pulp, both in the 59 fl. oz. and 89 fl. oz. sizes, are Kosher for Passover and can be enjoyed throughout the holiday.

“It’s important for Minute Maid and Simply Orange to be able to offer our consumers these choices as they celebrate Passover,” said Charles Torrey, vice president, marketing, Minute Maid. “We’re proud to be a part of families’ holiday traditions each year.”

Kosher foods and drinks are those that follow Jewish dietary law. During Passover, specific food and drinks are restricted from the diet of anyone celebrating. These types of food and drink include anything that contains grains and legumes (corn, peas, beans, etc.) and their derivatives. Also, any equipment used in the manufacturing of kosher products can’t have been used to process products containing these ingredients, unless the equipment goes through a process of Kosherization prior to a Passover production.

The OU and its affiliated Rabbis stringently inspect our Minute Maid and Simply Orange products throughout the manufacturing process to ensure they satisfy the standards for Kosher for Passover.

Kosher certified products are denoted with the symbol on packaging. Minute Maid and Simply Beverages have an extensive list of products certified kosher year-round. Look for the green tear strips with the symbol and that say Kosher for Passover (in Hebrew and in English) on bottles of Minute Maid and Simply Orange juice in stores.
