Marcos de Quinto is the Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of The Coca-Cola Company. De Quinto, whose deep experience with the company dates to 1982, became CMO on January 1, 2015.
Before assuming his current role, de Quinto served as President of Coca-Cola’s Iberia business unit, which covers Spain and Portugal and as Vice President of Coca-Cola’s Europe Group. De Quinto led the company’s Iberian operations for 14 years, beginning in January 2000.
De Quinto joined the company in 1982 as part of the marketing department of Coca-Cola Spain. He went on to hold positions that included district manager, distribution manager and distribution and merchandising manager. In 1988, he joined BSB Advertising as Director for Southern Spain, where he spent two years. He rejoined Coca-Cola in 1990 as Director of Marketing Services for Coca-Cola Spain.
From 1992 to 1995, de Quinto served as Division Marketing Manager of Coca-Cola Southeast and West Asia. He was Marketing Director of the German Division from 1995 to 1996, after which he became Regional Manager of Coca-Cola Spain, until he was named President of the Iberia business unit.
De Quinto has served as president of many outside companies and associations, including the American Business Council, President since 2012; AEA (Spanish Association of Advertisers), President from 1990 to 2000; Club of Juries for the Advertising Efficiency Awards (EFI), President since 2010; and ECOEMBES (Spanish Packaging Recycling Company), President from 2008-2012. He has held leading roles in other important companies and associations, including AME (Multi-sector Association of Food and Drinks Companies), FIAB (Spanish Federation of Food and Drinks Industries) and APD (Association for Progress in Management).
De Quinto earned an Economics degree from the Complutense University of Madrid and an MBA from the Instituto de Empresa in Madrid.
