NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE FOR December 29, 2015

We are pleased to inform you that Coca-Cola Refreshments and the Teamsters Local 727 have tentatively agreed in principle to the terms of a new three-year contract. The agreement is required to be ratified by the associates represented by Teamsters Local 727 who work at our Alsip and Niles production facilities. In the interim, we are pleased to welcome our associates back to work as soon as practical, for many that will be as soon as Wednesday, December 30th.  We are proud to make our high quality products available to our customers and consumers throughout the Chicagoland area and the region.

NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE FOR December 16, 2015

Coca-Cola Refreshments and Teamsters Local 727 ended the second day of mediation yesterday after Coca-Cola presented union leadership with a fair and equitable Offer for Settlement. The Company asked the union leadership to take this offer to the members of Local 727 for a vote. The union informed Coca-Cola that they would consider the proposal and get back to us as soon as possible. Union leadership also informed our team that it would not be available to continue negotiations for the rest of the week. We hope your representatives allow you the opportunity to vote on the Offer for Settlement.  We encourage you to review the materials and facts provided so you have what you need to make an informed vote.

Offer for Settlement Summary Points – 12/15/15

WAGES

  • This Offer of Settlement provides all employees a net pay increase every year for five years. The offer provides .50 cents per hour wage increase in each year of agreement.
     -- This is a total of a $2.50 per hour wage increase by year five.
     -- This will accumulate to total of $100 more per week by year five.
     -- On average these wage increases are higher than each of the last 13 years.

HEALTHCARE

  • Employee healthcare contribution increases DO NOT erase wage increases.
     -- The Year 1 employee healthcare contribution will increase by $2.28 per week, while the wage increase will be $20.00 per week.
     -- By Year 5 the employee healthcare contribution will increase by $37.62 per week, while the wage increase will be $100 per week.  

PENSION

  • The proposal preserves the Company’s Defined Pension Benefit and increases its contributions to the benefit in four out of the five years of the agreement.

NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE FOR December 14, 2015

LOCAL 727 NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE: The negotiations between Teamsters’ Local 727 and Coca-Cola Refreshments restarted today at the offices of the Federal Mediator. The work began at 9 am and continued late into the evening. We worked hard to find common ground and are committed to continuing that effort. We will make ourselves available until a resolution is reached, and have confirmed we are available to be back at the bargaining table tomorrow, Tuesday, December 15, 2015
