A new member of the Coca-Cola family has arrived, and Australians will be the first in the world to experience it.

Coca-Cola Ginger is rolling out nationwide just in time for the Australian summer. Designed with curious taste buds in mind, the limited-edition flavor came about after research on the beverage preferences of Australians found ginger to be a significant trend.

“Ginger can have warm, aromatic notes,” said Noemie Livain, brand manager, Coca-Cola South Pacific. “The recipe we’ve created is refreshing and intriguing. It’s Coca-Cola but there’s something more. There’s a surprising yet subtle twist of flavor which is perfect for summer.”

From concept to completion, the new flavor was developed, tested and launched in less than six months.

Coca-Cola Ginger will sold in various packages in various sizes, including glass bottles. Distinct packaging will feature premium gold on labels and bottle caps to highlight the exclusivity of the product and set the new flavor apart visually from other Trademark Coke brands.

Aussies' love of Asian fusion cuisine is a perfect complement to the new flavor, according to Livain. “Ginger works with a variety of flavors and is a lovely balance to Asian-inspired food, light salads and seafood,” she said.

This cultural mix made Australia the perfect choice to first launch Coca-Cola Ginger.

“We know that Australians love an icy-cold Coca-Cola on a hot summer day, so we’re excited that we will be the first country in the world to try it,” said Marina Rocha, group marketing manager, Coca-Cola South Pacific.
