On May 20, a partnership agreement between The Coca-Cola Company and The National Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan Republic was signed to launch the Active Family – Healthy Community Program. The program launch follows the Company’s global announcement on its commitments to further contribute to healthier, happier and more active communities everywhere it does business.
Engaging 50,000 People in the First Year
The initiative will support and promote an active and healthy lifestyle among parents and children in Azerbaijan.
It aims to engage families in sports through fun and safe activities
including two main events, the Olympic Run Day and the National Open
“We need to increase active and healthy lifestyle awareness in families, and get them moving and engaged in sporting activities,” said National Olympic Committee Vice President, Chingiz Huseynzadeh. “It is very important for the well-being of the communities in our country”.
Oleg Piletsky, Public Affairs and Communication Manager, Coca-Cola Caucasus and Central Asian Republics Region added, “For 127 years, we’ve been committed to refreshing the world, one beverage at a time. While the world has changed during this time, our commitment to understanding our consumers and making a positive difference in their lives and communities has not.”
Piletsky continued, “All over the world, our consumers are telling us they care about their well-being, and we care too. We recognize the health of our business is interwoven with the well-being of our consumers, our employees and the communities we serve.
As a company, we hope to further contribute to healthier, happier and more active communities everywhere we do business. We can do this through collective efforts working with civil society and government coming together to make a lasting, positive difference. As a company, we are very proud to initiate this program together with the Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan to improve the well-being of the communities in Azerbaijan through active and healthy lifestyle.”
