The Coca-Cola Company has a long heritage of sponsoring programs on the Radio. Our first radio program was Vivian, The Voice of the Coca-Cola Girl which went on air on May 10th, 1927. For the next few decades, radio programming was one of the most popular medium for advertising our product.
One of the more popular radio programs sponsored by Coca-Cola was the Mario Lanza show. This show premiered on air June 10th, 1951 and featured opera singer Mario Lanza who had stared in the movie, The Great Caruso. It is interesting to note that while the show originally aired in the US, copies were distributed to our offices around the world leading to the advertising shown from the Philippines above or the ad from Brazil to the left.
