With the upcoming United States political conventions the next few weeks, I dug around in the Archives for some related items. I found some stuffed "mascots" that take us back to the 1972 Presidential campaigns. That year, The
Coca-Cola Company had a rather unique promotion. For a mere $ 5.95 (and the ever required 'proof of purchase') you could have your choice between a Democratic donkey or a Republican elephant. We have examples of both in the Archives. As collectibles, they items have not appreciated as much as one would think. Both plush figures are worth around $ 30.00.
