The newest stadium in Major League Baseball is decked out with a host of home-run amenities. Each of the 41,000 seats feels like the “best in the house”, and stadium Wi-Fi that actually works (a rarity if you’ve ever been to a major sporting event) keeps fans connected.
But the best part is the eats.
According to Braves.com, the gametime grub inside SunTrust Park is a foodie’s dream. From top Atlanta chefs Hugh Acheson to Linton Hopkins to Kevin Rathbun, to iconic Southern restaurants like Waffle House and Fox Brother BBQ, food lovers will find it all.
We could take their word for it, or take a taste tour of the 17 concession offerings ourselves. And thanks to Delaware North Sportservice, the hospitality and food service provider of the Braves, that's what we did!
Here’s a taste of the food and
Tacos and baseball? When Delaware North executive sous chef Rory Bancroft pitched the idea, he said he “let the food speak for itself.” And it does. These aren’t your run-of-the-mill ground beef tacos. Oh no, my friend. We’re talking barbacoa, grilled chickened and blackened catfish tacos all made in house and served fresh to order.
Recommendation: Barbacoa taco with some homemade salsa and an ice-cold
The Atlanta staple will serve up their famous waffle fries and chicken sandwiches at several locations in SunTrust Park, expanding their presence from the Braves' former home at Turner Field. A main location will offer a full menu, and Chick-fil-A carts will offer many items throughout the park.
Recommendation: Waffle fries and a handspun Chick-fil-A milkshake, together.
The International Wok is a pleasant surprise. It’s the perfect place to switch it up with their two main dishes – noodles in peanut sauce and Zhong style pork dumplings.
Recommendation: Warm dumplings and a chilled Coke Zero. Perfect contrast to bring out the flavor!
Move over peanuts and pretzels, there’s a new fan favorite in town: The Burgerizza! A what? That’s right, a burger with two pizzas as the bun.
Step up to the plate at The Slice concession stand and try this new spin on two American classics. Your taste buds will thank you.
Recommendation: Pair with a Diet Coke and share with a friend.
Introducing your go-to spot for prepackaged goodies, gluten-free offerings (including gluten-free hot dogs), and the largest variety of
First & Third Hot Dog and Sausage Shack
Farm-raised, fresh and local. That’s what you can expect from renowned chef Hugh Acheson’s sausage spot. Try an Italian sausage, German brat, or Polish classic and pair it with homemade coleslaw for a southern twist.
Last but not least are the fan favorites – hotdogs, hamburgers, nachos, you name it. Because sometimes fans just want a taste of nostalgia.
Recommendation: Basket of fries, ballpark hotdog and Coke.
Whether you’re looking to test your foodie palette or want to stick to basics, the food and drink options at SunTrust Park are a home run!
