The American College of Cardiology (ACC) represents more than 43,000 cardiovascular professionals, including physicians, surgeons, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists and practice managers, from the United States and approximately 125 countries around the world. Public education is a fundamental element of ACC's mission to transform cardiovascular care and improve heart health.

The Coca-Cola Company established a partnership with the ACC in 2010 to support its CardioSmart initiative, which is focused on educating the public about heart disease and simple ways to stay heart healthy through online resources and tools, as well as community events.

Since the partnership began, The Coca Cola Company has helped drive more than 35 million impressions to the CardioSmart.org website and its life-saving information—and we are not done! Thanks to our collective efforts, CardioSmart continues to make great strides in raising awareness of the importance of taking care of one's heart through exercise, proper diet, monitoring blood pressure and cholesterol, and regular medical check-ups.

Beyond the digital realm, Coca-Cola and the ACC have also partnered on several innovative community outreach efforts that have made meaningful differences in the lives of those living with, or at risk of, heart disease. For example, over the last few years ACC physicians have joined Coca-Cola and NASCAR to talk about heart health to over 65,000 participants in Coca-Cola Family Track Walks, our innovative active healthy living programs designed to get racing fans moving. In addition, in February 2013, the ACC joined with the National Heart, Lung & Blood Institute and Diet Coke to help raise awareness of heart disease as the #1 health threat for women as part of The Heart Truth program and the Red Dress Fashion Show, a signature event kicking off New York Fashion Week each spring.

These are just several examples of the creative ways Coca-Cola and the ACC are working to make a meaningful difference in increasing heart health awareness and facilitating positive lifestyle changes. We look forward to doing more together in the coming years.
