For more than 25 years, Conservation International (CI) has empowered societies to responsibly and sustainably care for nature and its global biodiversity to promote the long-term well-being of people. CI works in 20+ countries across four continents, with more than 1,000 partners around the world.

In 2011, we engaged with CI to provide strategic advice on sustainable agriculture, freshwater impacts and the Company's broader corporate sustainability efforts.

As one component of this broader engagement, CI is helping TCCC develop a set of sustainable agriculture guiding principles, which set expectations for agricultural ingredient suppliers and at the farm level to address sustainability challenges specific to agriculture.

Our teams in Brazil worked with CI to build our strategy for water resources protection in that region. As a first step, CI conducted a diagnostic review of water resources in Brazilian biomes in order to analyze the main impacts to water resources in each biome, looking at factors such as availability, demand, biodiversity, impact factors, water use in agriculture and sanitation in order to identify projects that will contribute to water protection and conservation, as well as help provide access to clean water and sanitation for communities.

Peter Seligmann, CI's Chairman and CEO, is a member of The Coca-Cola Company's International Public Policy Advisory Board, an advisory board that provides strategic guidance to the Company on environmental issues, among others.

The Coca-Cola Company is a member of CI's Business & Sustainability Council, a community of companies committed to leveraging their business experience and resources to protect nature for the benefit of humanity.
