Senior Vice President and Deputy Chief Financial Officer
John Murphy is senior vice president and deputy chief financial officer of The Coca-Cola Company. He will succeed Chief Financial Officer Kathy Waller on March 16. In this new role, he will be responsible for leading the company’s global finance organization and representing the company with investors, lenders and rating agencies.
Most recently, Murphy served as president of the company’s Asia Pacific group. He was responsible for operations in the group’s five business units: Greater China & Korea, Japan, South East Asia, India & South West Asia and South Pacific. He was also responsible for the company’s Bottling Investments Group, primarily focused on key markets in Southeast and Southwest Asia.
Murphy previously served as president, South Latin business unit, where he was responsible for operations in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay. Prior to this role, from 2008 to 2012, he was president, Latin Center business unit, responsible for operations in 31 countries in Central America, the Caribbean and the Andean Region.

Murphy earned a bachelor's degree in Business Studies from Trinity College in Dublin and a diploma in professional accounting from University College in Dublin. He qualified as a chartered accountant of the Irish Institute of Chartered Accountants.
