people and brands around the globe responded by pledging on April 9 —
#ADayWithoutWaste — to make positive changes in their waste and consumption
In partnership between EKOCYCLE and Global Citizen the campaign surpassed its initial goal of 150,000 waste reducing actions from people joining the #ADayWithoutWaste global movement to make a difference. The more than 179,800 pledges prevented 1.5 million waste items from entering landfills around the world.
The #ADayWithoutWaste campaign kicked off in March 2014 with a traveling photo booth at the Global Citizen Nights concert at SXSW and during NBA Green Week at L.A. Live in Los Angeles.

- Global Citizen, in partnership with EKOCYCLE, will host its next Global Citizen Nights show in Chicago on April 24 featuring Aloe Blacc with special guests The Main Squeeze and Johnnyswim.
- On June 26, Global Citizen, in partnership with World Childhood Foundation, will present the Thank You Festival featuring Tiësto, Above & Beyond, Krewella, Alvin Risk, and more at Merriweather Post Pavilion outside Washington D.C.
- The traveling photo booth will bring the #ADayWithoutWaste movement to the Thank You Festival to continue inspiring people about how to waste less.
"We will continue to highlight consumption habits and the conscious steps people can take towards reducing their waste through our Global Citizen Nights concert series,” said Ryan Gall, co-founder of Global Citizen.
