McCafé set out to explore America’s love of coffee and how drinking java stacks up against the day’s many feel-good moments.

The McCafé’s Feelin’ Good Summer Survey polled 1,000 U.S. adults about their love of coffee and other everyday moments that make them happy to coincide with the launch of bottled McCafé Frappés, a line of ready-to-drink (RTD) coffee drinks produced and distributed by The Coca-Cola Company.

When asked about their preferred ways to start their day, respondents said it’s a toss-up between coffee and cuddles with a beloved pet. About a third (31%) of survey respondents said snuggling their pet would help turn around a bad morning, while almost half (47%) turn to coffee to get a better start to their day.

America’s coffee obsession isn’t just about the “perks” of caffeine: coffee makes us feel good. And no season is as full of good vibes as summer. Most respondents (80%) said they have the most feel-good moments during summertime, and summer just wouldn’t be summer without pool days (54%), ice cream trucks (44%) and iced or cold coffee (40%).

McCafé also found Americans are willing to make all sorts of sacrifices when it comes to coffee. More than a third (34%) of respondents said they would prioritize drinking coffee over brushing their teeth if they only had 10 minutes to get ready in the morning, while nearly two out of five (38%) would be more willing to spend a day without their smartphone than abstain from java for a full 24 hours.

McDonald’s and Coca-Cola co-hosted a McCafé Frappé Summ “ahh” event last Thursday (8/16) on the roof deck of Spotify’s New York City offices, where media and influencers got their Friday feels a little early. The event included sounds by celebrity DJ Va$htie, interactive feel-good experiences and samples of all three flavors of McCafé’s ready-to-drink Frappés.

In April, McDonald’s launched a line of bottled McCafé Frappé coffee drinks in grocery and convenience stores, as well as mass merchandisers across the U.S. Available in 13.7-oz. resealable PET bottles in three flavors – Caramel, Mocha, and Vanilla – bottled McCafé Frappés are brewed with 100% Arabica coffee beans and blended with real milk, sugar, natural flavors and other ingredients for a smooth, delicious taste.
