Coca-Cola Freestyle adds fun and variety to the tried-and-true beverage fountain while giving people new ways to experience their favorite brands.

First introduced in 2009, the sleek, stylish dispensers can be found in restaurants, movie theaters, theme parks, college campuses and convenience stores across the U.S. and Puerto Rico, with new machines coming online weekly. Pilot tests also are underway in the U.K. and Canada.

While traditional fountains offer between six and eight choices, the touchscreen-operated dispenser uses “micro-dosing” technology to deliver more than 100 sparkling and still brands on demand, including more than 70 low/no-calorie options and 90-plus caffeine-free choices.

“We’re three years in and still seeing the same level of excitement,” says Jennifer Mann, VP and general manager, Coca-Cola Freestyle. “In addition to the variety, people love the interactive experience, which captures what Coke is all about – delivering moments of happiness and refreshment in engaging ways.”

The buzz is building thanks, in part, to Coca-Cola Freestyle’s expanded social media presence. People continue to pour on the praise for the “fountain of the future” and generate strong word-of-mouth feedback by sharing their experiences with family and friends. Research even shows that two-thirds of all fans seek out restaurants with Coca-Cola Freestyle units, which bodes well for operators.

“People are going out of their way for Coca-Cola Freestyle, driving past a location without a machine to get to another that has one,” adds Mann, who said restaurants with Coca-Cola Freestyle units are reporting strong increases in beverage servings, total transactions and overall sales.

Coca-Cola Freestyle offers a variety of drinks for every taste, lifestyle and occasion – including more than 80 brands that can’t be found anywhere else. These unique beverages are produced using specially designed recipes; they’re not simply base brands with added flavor shots that vary from pour to pour. Each has a unique formula to ensure a consistently delicious taste with every sip. For example, the amount of orange in an Orange Coca-Cola differs from the amount of orange in an Orange Sprite.
