In Canada, more than 1.15 million students – a staggering one in seven – wake up and face the school day without a nutritious breakfast. Breakfast Club of Canada and Minute Maid are aiming to change that.
On Oct. 6, the partners teamed up for the first-ever Minute Maid Breakfast Day in Canada. The new national initiative shines a light on the importance of a balanced breakfast, the number of Canadian students at risk of going to school hungry, and how Breakfast Club of Canada helps hundreds of thousands of students succeed.

“A healthy balanced breakfast is important for all students, and Minute Maid has a role to play in helping all Canadian youth get the best start to their day,” said Polge, second from left in the picture above. Research shows that having a nutritious breakfast leads to higher attendance and graduation rates, as well as decreased behavioral challenges and instances of bullying.
For 15 years, Minute Maid has partnered with Breakfast Club of Canada to help kids rise and shine for success at school. Minute Maid donates 100% juices free of charge to the organization that supports almost 1,500 Breakfast Club school programs that serve over 25 million free breakfasts annually.
