Sustainability isn’t new at The Coca-Cola Company: it has been fundamental to our business since 1886. Whether we’re reducing water use in our operations, helping communities recycle more, or supporting our neighbors in times of crisis, every decision we make is a chance to do the right thing. We must be relentlessly self-aware of our role in the world and the impact we can have.
Several years ago, we set ambitious goals for 2020, including many around water leadership and women’s economic empowerment. This year’s report includes updates on our progress and shows where we can continue to tap into the passion of our people to help reach our targets.
And as our business continues to evolve, society’s expectations are evolving, too. People everywhere expect companies to listen more, do more, and lead more.
So we are.
Earlier this year, we announced our World Without Waste vision to help make the world’s packaging problem a thing of the past. Though a complex challenge, our primary goal is simple: help collect and recycle a bottle or can for every one we sell globally by 2030. Because every package should have more than one life, we’re addressing the entire packaging lifecycle – from how bottles and cans are designed and manufactured, to how they are recycled and repurposed.
People around the world care about our planet, and they expect companies like ours to take action. That’s exactly what we’re going to do, and we invite you to join us on this journey.
