SURGE is back, and now it’s frozen.

Burger King restaurants are turning a cult favorite into a cold favorite with this week’s introduction of Frozen SURGE™.

Frozen SURGE is being offered exclusively at participating Burger King restaurants nationwide. The launch comes on the heels of the beloved citrus-flavored beverage's return to store shelves after a 12-year hiatus, thanks in part to an enthusiastic and vocal fan base. In the years since it was discontinued in 2002, SURGE has been deemed sacred by diehard fans and ‘90s aficionados.

“We are really excited to re-introduce SURGE to our guests and bring it to a new generation with a brain-freezing twist,” said Eric Hirschhorn, chief marketing officer, Burger King North America.

The launch of Frozen Frozen SURGE will be supported by a digital video and social media campaign starring 1990s icon Pauly Shore. In the video, the actor and comedian brings back his famous “Weasel” persona to wreak havoc on the unsuspecting crew members and guests of a Burger King restaurant with Frozen Frozen SURGE in hand.

“The popularity of SURGE has stood the test of time, and the overwhelming demand from fans drove our decision to bring it back,” said Bobby Oliver, director of citrus brands, Coca-Cola North America. “We’re expanding the signature taste and distinctive color of SURGE to frozen form and making it available to the masses.”
