“Sixteen years ago, it almost felt like I sold every bottle myself. It’s nice to see our brand and our mission reach an audience well beyond my personal sales route!” said Seth Goldman, Honest Tea founder. “This is a testament to the persistence and faith of our team as well as the increasing acceptance of organic ingredients.”

Honest Tea has released 85 organic beverages since launching nearly two decades ago. These include bottled teas, tea bags, juice drinks, kombucha, a cacao-based drink, soda, and, recently, limeade and lemonade. Since selling 300,000 bottles in 1998, the brand has continued to grow. In 2008, The Coca-Cola Company became a partner, first with an initial investment before acquiring the brand in 2011. Since Coca-Cola’s investment, Honest Tea’s store availability has grown to more than 100,000 outlets.

Hitting the milestone this month is perfect timing, since June is National Iced Tea Month. To celebrate, Honest Tea set out to find out what Americans across all 50 states are saying about their iced tea. With a little help from some Twitter-data-savvy friends at Sysomos Inc., the team looked at every single tweet about iced tea in the U.S. in 2014. That’s more than 117,000 tweets!
