If you live in Northern Europe, chances are you’re pretty happy.
For the second straight year, Denmark topped the World Happiness Report ranking of the happiest countries. Four other European nations – Norway, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Sweden – rounded out the top five.
The 2013 report, published on Monday by the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, pulled from the last three years of Gallup World Poll data to rank 156 countries on healthy life expectancy, freedom to make life choices, generosity and more. It examines trends over time and provides guidance for policy makers on incorporating well-being into decision-making processes. According to the report, happy people live longer, are more productive, earn more, and are better citizens. Read more on CNN.
