The official start of the 2017 NASCAR season gets underway this Sunday with the 59th annual Daytona 500. Considered one of the premiere racing events in the world, fans from all 50 states and more than 20 countries worldwide are flocking to Daytona International Speedway. Once again, Coca-Cola will be refreshing fans across the country who will be watching at home and at the racetrack this weekend.
The Coca-Cola Racing Family – which includes drivers Austin Dillon, Joey Logano, Denny Hamlin, Ryan Newman and Danica Patrick – are gearing up for the 200 laps and 500 miles they’ll cover on Sunday. Before the drivers start their engines, they got together during the off season to film a new TV commercial, called “Position,” which will air for the first time on Sunday.
This new spot taps into the personalities and the competitive nature of the Coca-Cola Racing Family drivers and reminds fans that watching sports is always more enjoyable with a delicious, refreshing ice-cold Coca-Cola.
Two Coca-Cola Racing Family drivers have won the past two Daytona 500 races, with Denny Hamlin winning in 2016 and Joey Logano winning in 2015. So here’s hoping the streak continues and there is another Coca-Cola winner standing in victory lane.
Cheers to the entire Coca-Cola Racing Family! Race coverage starts at 1 p.m. ET on FOX.
