At The
We believe in creating economic opportunities for everyone associated with our supply chain, including women and smallholder farmers, helping to protect the land rights of local communities, and stewarding water and other natural resources within the more than 200 countries and territories where we operate.
Achieving our 2020 goal to sustainably source our key agricultural ingredients globally, based on our Sustainable Agriculture Guiding Principles (SAGP), requires market transformation—and is only possible by working with partners to initiate and lead this expansive change. This is why we take an active role in industry collaborations and believe strongly in their ability to make a positive difference.
First and foremost, we partner with our bottling partners and suppliers such as Cargill, FNC, Copersucar, Raizen, Finalys, Cutrale and Doehler, to actively stay on our continual improvement path toward reaching compliance with our SAGPs.
Our industry and nonprofit partnerships play a crucial role in helping achieve the changes we seek across the globe. Some of our recent and critical partners include SAI Platform, Solidaridad, USAID, TechnoServe, WWF, The Howard G. Buffett Foundation, Heifer International, the Rockefeller Foundation, Mercy Corps, The Consumer Goods Forum Bonsucro, IFC, Field to Market, Landesa and The Nature Conservancy.
Our strategy to advance sustainable agriculture globally requires identifying the most successful agricultural programs and platforms, scaling them up, and trying to replicate them where they are needed around the world. Together with our partners, we help suppliers and producers test and refine new techniques and methods. We also implement programs to increase efficiency and crop yields for farmers. Reaching our goal to sustainably source our key agricultural ingredients by 2020 requires integrating sustainability aspects into all our programs.
