Up-Close: FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour Plane

The Plane Up Close

The aircraft, which has a 6.5-hour/3,000-mile flight range, is decorated in vibrant colors to reflect the spirit of Brazil, the host country of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Welcome Aboard!

Three pilots, three flight attendants, a flight mechanic, a doctor and a flight coordinator will staff the plane. The crew will rotate out every three or four weeks. Personnel from Coca-Cola, FIFA and supporting agencies will be onboard, too, as well as various media, a camera crew, Coca-Cola blogger/photographer Joel Robison and a security team.

The Official FIFA World Cup Trophy

The official FIFA World Cup trophy is housed on the plane. The seats at the front of the cabin have been removed to serve as a trophy presentation area for the press, government officials and VIPs. Only heads of state and previous FIFA World Cup winners can touch the solid-gold trophy.

List of Countries on the Route

Of the 89 countries along the 92,000-mile route, 52 will welcome the FIFA World Cup Trophy for the first time ever.

Passenger Seats

The plane includes 40 passenger seats: 16 for guests and 24 for the core team.

A Refreshing Flight

This is the third time Coca-Cola and FIFA have come together to bring the Trophy Tour to the world, starting in 2006 and then again in 2010.

Thank You for Flying with Us!

The plane departs Sept. 27 from Atlanta, Ga. to San Jose, Costa Rica. The nine-month tour will give more than 1 million people around the world the chance to experience football's most coveted prize in their own communities.
