Returning water to nature and communities

Returning water to nature and communities

Because water is local, we take a local approach to help increase water security.

The Coca‑Cola Company, with the support of our system and The Coca‑Cola Foundation, works with NGOs and local organizations to deliver solutions for the unique needs of the communities we call home.

From restoring wetlands and refilling aquifers to improving water access in schools and villages, our projects are designed to create lasting impact for people and the planet.

Together, we help protect our most precious resource and create ripples of change.

Ripples of Change

Our goals

  • We aim to return more than 100% of the water used in finished products globally, on an aggregate level, to nature and communities.
  • We seek to return 100% of the total water used in each of the more than 200 high-risk locations across the Coca‑Cola system by 2035.
Our goals

Water replenishment

ACTION
We help restore water resources such as lakes, reservoirs and streams by supporting projects that advance reforestation, conservation and efficient agricultural water use.

IMPACT
Together with our partners, we help improve water availability and resilience for surrounding ecosystems, agriculture and communities.

Water access

ACTION
We help provide safe water to communities by supporting local initiatives that deliver tools like cisterns, wells and filtration systems, along with hands-on training.

Ripples of Change

The Living Danube Partnership

This is a unique cross-sector collaboration by WWF Central and Eastern Europe, The Coca‑Cola Foundation, and local stakeholders to improve watershed health in the Danube basin. Ten years of collective efforts are helping to revitalize this significant European lifeline, creating ripples of change for people and nature across the region.

Ripples of Change

Água + Acesso

In Brazil, The Coca‑Cola Foundation and local partners are bringing clean, reliable water to help hundreds of rural communities become self-sufficient. By supporting sustainable treatment and distribution systems, this work is giving thousands of people better access for basic needs like drinking, cooking and bathing from taps directly in their homes. Together, we’re creating ripples of change.
