Since the first Olympic Flame was lit in Amsterdam in 1928, Coca‑Cola and the Olympic Movement have shared a belief in the power of sport to bring people together. As the Olympic Games return to the United States for the LA28 Games, that partnership will take another historic step forward.

The Olympic flame will originate in Olympia, Greece, before arriving in the United States in Spring 2028, with Atlanta — home of The Coca‑Cola Company and host of the Olympic & Paralympic Games Atlanta 1996 — serving as the first stop on the LA28 Olympic Torch Relay. From there, the Relay is planning to travel through all 50 states, connecting communities across the country before the flame reaches Los Angeles for the LA28 Olympic Games. 

As a Presenting Partner of the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Torch Relays, Coca‑Cola will help bring the spirit of the Olympic Games closer to more people through one of the Olympic Movement’s most enduring traditions.

By traveling through every state, the LA28 Olympic Torch Relay will give people across the country an opportunity to experience the excitement of the Olympic Games, especially those who may not be able to attend live in Los Angeles. It will transform the road to the LA28 Games into a national celebration built around local communities, shared traditions and hometown pride.

Coca‑Cola first served as a Presenting Partner of the Olympic Torch Relay at the Olympic Games Barcelona 1992, helping extend the celebrations, traditions and shared moments of the Olympic Games experience beyond host cities and into communities around the world.

Thirty-two years after the flame of the Olympic Games Atlanta 1996 was extinguished, the flame will return to the city to open the LA28 Olympic Torch Relay, honoring Atlanta’s history with the Olympic Games and Coca‑Cola’s longtime hometown while beginning a new chapter in the company’s relationship with the Olympic Movement.

The LA28 Olympic Games will also coincide with the 100th anniversary of Coca‑Cola’s partnership with the Olympic Movement, making Coca‑Cola the longest continuous partner of the Olympic Games.

The LA28 Olympic Torch Relay will carry that legacy forward, passing the flame from person to person and community to community on its journey to Los Angeles.
