The Coca‑Cola Company and The Coca‑Cola Foundation are providing much-needed support for relief efforts to communities impacted by Hurricane Florence. The philanthropic arm of The Coca‑Cola Company – The Coca‑Cola Foundation – today pledged $1 million to the American Red Cross to help provide immediate resources for necessary food and shelter, and aid in long-term rebuilding efforts across North and South Carolina.

“Giving back to the communities where we live and work is simply a part of our corporate values,” said Helen Smith Price, president, The Coca‑Cola Foundation.  “In times of great need, we use our resources to help meet immediate relief and recovery needs, and we are pleased to support the important efforts of the American Red Cross throughout the Carolinas.”

In addition to monetary support from The Coca‑Cola Foundation, the company and its local bottling partner, Coca‑Cola Bottling Company Consolidated have donated more than one hundred thousand bottles of water and other beverages to the American Red Cross and other local community organizations to support relief shelters and emergency response efforts. Coca‑Cola Consolidated teammates also pitched in to assemble and donate thousands of emergency relief kits to support relief efforts.

Coca‑Cola is also tapping into its marketing resources to help encourage consumers to give to The American Red Cross through the Coca‑Cola Give program. People can visit Coke.com/give and enter codes found under the caps of Coca‑Cola beverages – and inside multi-packs – and convert them into donations to the American Red Cross for hurricane relief.

"As a local business across the United States, we recognize that we are in a unique position to help our communities in times of disaster,” said Jim Dinkins, president, Coca‑Cola North America. “We are working closely with our proud North Carolina-based bottling partner, Coca‑Cola Bottling Company Consolidated, to ensure our entire Coca‑Cola family is doing what we can to help our people and the communities we serve recover from the storm in the weeks ahead.”

The Coca‑Cola Company  is also matching its own employees’ contributions to the Coca‑Cola Employee Disaster Relief Fund up to $100,000. This fund is available to provide disaster relief and rebuilding funds to the more than 6,000 Coca‑Cola system employees who live in the path of Hurricane Florence in North and South Carolina.
