Gold Peak Taps Questlove for ‘Tea is for Trying’ Summer Campaign

07-07-2022

Gold Peak—a premium ready-to-drink tea crafted with real tea leaves and real cane sugar to deliver a home-brewed taste reminiscent of the comforts of home—will quench fans’ thirst for trying new things with a refreshing summer campaign.

The fast-growing brand is launching “Tea is for Trying” in collaboration with someone who’s no stranger to trying new things: Grammy- and Oscar-winning artist Questlove. The drummer and co-frontman of hip-hop legends The Roots will appear in three Gold Peak ads over the coming months, allowing fans to follow along with his new experiences.

“Gold Peak Real Brewed Tea is made from real tea leaves and real cane sugar, and that’s not changing anytime soon,” said Annie Gately, senior brand manager, Gold Peak. “What has changed is tea fans’ thirst for trying new things, which studies show are at an all-time high. Whether it’s trying to play an instrument, learning a new language or just testing a new recipe, Gold Peak ‘Tea is for Trying.’”

To both unleash a “thirst for trying” and celebrate National Iced Tea Day, Gold Peak hosted the “Real Brewed-ery” at Clinton Hall (W 36th St.) in New York City on June 7. The pop-up event put a spin on the traditional brewery experience by showcasing the “Real Brewed Taste” of Gold Peak with tea flights, food pairings, tasting notes, Gold Peak-inspired mocktails, fun activities and more.

“Mocktologist” Camille Wilson—cocktail blogger and author of Free Spirit Cocktails: 40 Nonalcoholic Drink Recipes—dished out drinks made exclusively for the event, from Raspberry Mar-tea-nis to Spicy Margari-teas. Gold Peak greeted 400 guests between consumers, media, and local bottlers, and distributed about 1,000 chilled teas throughout the day.

In the run up to National Iced Tea Day, Gold Peak gave away 3,000 free teas on June 10. U.S. consumers were able to submit their address for the chance to have Gold Peak shipped to their home while supplies lasted. Fans in the greater New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Houston and Tampa areas received on-demand deliveries on National Iced Tea Day (June 10).

Crafted with high-quality tea leaves and ingredients, plus filtered water, real-brewed Gold Peak tea offers a variety of flavors for everyone and every occasion—including Sweet Tea, Unsweetened Tea, Georgia Peach Tea and California Raspberry Tea.
